The Maestro series of desking and office furniture

The Maestro series of business furniture manufactured by Dams International is probably the most popular ranges of business furniture ever produced. The success of Maestro office furniture is based upon a formula of Maestro offering superb value for money, Maestro furniture is very dureable and functional, and Maestro offers a wide choice of modular furniture items. Maestro is the ideal product range for either budget conscious businesses or the home office furniture user.

Maestro desks come in a choice of three basic designs (rectangular, wave and ergonomic L shaped desks) each in a choice of sizes and a choice of leg designs from wooden panel end and a grey powder coated steel cantilever design. In previous years Maestro furniture has been sold in many different MFC woodgrain effect finishes. Recently the range has been limited to either beech or oak woodgrain effect finish, though cherry and light grey products have only recently been discontinued and in some cases residual stocks may still be available. A number of years ago the Maestro furniture range could be ordered in white though it could never be ordered as a highly fashionable black ash office furniture range.

If there is a possible shortcoming of Maestro office furniture, it is the fact that it is manufactured from 18mm MFC woodgrain effect chipboard which could be deemed to be slightly too inexpensive for some customers requirements, though it’s lasting strength and durability should not be doubted despite its budget appearance. The commercial office furniture market has swung firmly in favour of 25mm furniture ranges in recent years which generally looks much better quality. A middle ground upgrade from Maestro is the Maestro 25 range (often known as M25 range).

Maestro 25 desks are only around 10% to 15% dearer than Maestro desking, but they appear a much better quality and give a better impression. The two ranges can be installed in the same office and will not look out of place. The main point to note is that M25 desking products are only available in standard metric sizes (800mm deep and metric widths like 1200mm, 1400mm, 1600mm etc.) whereas Maestro desks comes in unusual depths and widths (746mm deep and widths like 1228mm, 1532mm, 1778mm etc.) This size issue is only a problem if you try to add a Maestro 25 desk onto a cluster of original Maestro desks.
