Achieving The Best Result From Your Kitchen By Replacing The Kitchen Mixer Faucet

It’s commonly known that the correct type of kitchen mixer taps can make the look of a kitchen. And, whether you’re just renewing the mixer taps themselves or doing a complete kitchen makeover, going for the right mixer taps to enhance your décor is of paramount importance.

With the choice of styles and finishes in the shops nowadays, one would think that uncovering the correct tap should be really simple. However, you could end up overwhelmed by the amount of choice or, if you have an older sink, issues with compatibility may well restrict your choices in some way.

Side Bar: If you are simply updating your current tap but not the kitchen sink, you’ll need to discover a tap assembly, that is going to sit in the sink’s mounting-hole(s) and if your particular sink is getting on in years and has twin tap-holes, then you will need to measure the distance between the hole-centres. Once you’ve done this, you may find that your options are restricted somewhat. This happened to me and I had to say goodbye to all the up to the minute styles.

Once you’ve isolated what will and won’t be compatible with your sink, the next job is to choose a style. If your kitchen décor is right up to the minute, you’ll want something that has a more up to date look; possibly with a brushed finish. But, if your kitchen is more toward traditional, then, one of the more classic styles with a polished yellow metal finish may be more suited.

There’s one more consideration to take into account: budget. Don’t make the same mistake that I made a few years ago and spend your hard earned cash on a budget, imported mixer tap. The one I got looked wonderful when I first took it out of the box but a while later when the thing began to break up, I wished I had spent some more and got quality.
